Dear HBI,
I have been accused for thirty some years of being a "card toting bitch." To
be a member of HBI would give me the prestige I have longed for these three
plus decades.
Women who have totally relied on physical beauty and attributes all of their
lives to achieve their current status (professionally/socially), are now
waking up in their forties and fifties only to realize they made crucial
errors in judgement. (how SAD)
I, too, am guilty of looking more closely in the mirror and privately
wondering if a little nip and tuck is in order. WHAT is WRONG with us,
Women????? Society has "allowed" fat, ugly, bald, and obnoxious MALE news
anchors into our living rooms nightly while their FEMALE counterparts are
constantly replaced by the younger, more physically appealing variety. (in
THEIR opinions)
In all films I've seen and on television in general, the men do not HAVE to
be a perfect specimen of mastubatory quality to be considered appealing,
young, sexy, attractive, and successful.
Women, on the other hand, have to exude what a particular segment of society
perceives as "beautiful" to be accepted on ANY level. I DESPISE the way I
feel about myself. I should be confident and indifferent to opinions
expressed by persons under the influence of a demented and sub-standard
culture who use every medium available to exploit females in general.
I am so ashamed to admit the way I feel about myself has been grossly
influenced by the same people who dictate to the world what and who are or
aren't acceptable.
IF I hear one more negative comment regarding Janet Reno's physical
appearance, I seriously will barf. Janet Reno is much more appealing than
99% of a nearly 100% male cabinet. I heard the same comments regarding
Marcia Clark during the OJ trial. (she buckled, by the way) Anita Hill got
a bad rap from the media in that people could not BELIEVE Thomas would make
such comments to Ms. Hill and that his advances were not initiated by Ms.
Hill. COME ON people... IF the tables were reversed, let's look at what
would have happened. A MALE Attorney General has NEVER received negative
comments regarding his physical appearance. (Have you SEEN some of them?)
Did Johnny Cochran change HIS hairstlye during the trial? And did you
notice how "attractive" the dream team really was? (PLEASE) And why- in hell
- would a woman of Anita Hill's character and beauty STOOP to warrant the
advances of a fat-assed, ugly, pretentious bastard like Clarence Thomas????
Having said these things, I am now prepared to break the mirror and toss out
the makeup. Damn, I am sick of this crap ! ! ! ! !
Do I hate MEN??? No way... I despise the mindset of this society and feel
an urge to stand on a soap box and yell, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? You
are being led to the slaughter as innocent lambs!!! WAKE UP ! ! ! Think
for yourselves. Let us not live under imposed societal thinking. Let us
wake up before our daughters and granddaughters suffer the same indignities
we have fought so hard to remedy."
