We have always been well-known in our crowd as a couple that loves a lively debate. In addition, I am the one in the relationship that does all the hard stuff like go to court for our jointly owned business, deal with all of the tough deals, etc. My partner adds enormous creativity and energy. Because I do all the hard stuff, I'm starting to get a lot of pop psychology bullshit from my women friends like "oh he's abusive and you're a doormat."

Why is it that when a woman is strong in traditional male ways and the man is strong in traditional female ways and both are very verbal and open about their positions, we get pressure to become like others?

What else did feminism offer but the opportunity to invent your own way, and be a couple without this new version of the 50s model?
